• Mother's Day

Mother's Day is a day honoring mothers and motherhood.

The origins of Mother's Day can be traced back to the worship rituals of the goddess Rhea in ancient times Greece and the cult of Cybele and Attis among the Romans.  It has been established in the western world since 1914, beginning in the United States. In German-speaking countries and many other countries it is celebrated on the second Sunday in May.
